Dixie Myers (Atwell)

Dixie Myers Atwell, 73, of Glasgow, died May 8, 2014, at her home. 

She was born in Earle, Ark., the daughter of the late Martin Pickett Myers II and Elizabeth Ann Langston Myers. Dixie grew up in Greenville, Miss., and was a graduate of the Bowling Green Business College. She worked for over 25 years at the Barren County Child Support Office, serving the administration of four county attorneys. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Open Door Sunday school class, a member of the Chancel choir and hand bell choir and the Kiononia Circle.

She is survived by two sons, Steven Douglas Atwell and wife Melony of Bowling Green and Russell Alan Atwell and wife Tammy of Park City; four grandchildren, Megan, Evan, Morgan and Tyler Atwell; a brother, Martin Pickett Myers III of Greenville, Miss.; and a sister, Rebecca Carnes of Springfield, Tenn.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Monday.
