I attended Delta State University (Cleveland, MS) and graduated in 1963 with a BS degree in Business Administration, ...First real job - was with Mohasco Corporation in Greenville as Assistant Manager in Compensation and Methods (Time and Motion Studies) Mohasco owned several carpet-furniture-furniture rental companies. Worked in Greenville,MS 1963-64, moved to Corporate Headquarters in Amsterdam, NY in February 1965. Lived in Amsterdam 1965-67, Married DianaLee LaTorre 1967, and later that year we moved to Balitmore, MD where I was employed by the Martin Marietta Aero-Space Group as a Senior HR Manager, 1968 moved back to Amsterdam, NY Mohasco Corp as Manager of Compensation and Benefits - Furniture Group,( they made me an offer I could not refuse) in 1971 we moved to Memphis, TN with Mohasco Corp to set up a regional HR office in Memphis, 1978 we moved to Dublin, GA again with Mohasco Corp to combined regional HR responsibilities and functions between Carpet and Furniture divisions, in 1988 moved to Fairfax, VA Mohasco as Corporate Director - Field Operations of Compensation and Benefits, However, a hostile takeover of the company occurred in 1990, Mohasco Corporation was subsequently dissolved over next 2 years. In 1990 I was hired (appointed) as Director of Pay and Retirement Benefits for the District of Columbia Government (1990-1993), 54,000 employees, 2.4 billion dollars in payrolls covering 27 agencies ( Executive service appointment was at the pleasure of Mayor Marrion Barry - but when they threw Barry out on the streets of Washington, D.C. they also threw me out as well along with 100's of other Barry's people. In 1963 we moved to Macon, GA as Director of Compensation and Benefits for YKK USA the world largest (Japanese) owned and managed zipper company, 2002 we moved to Marietta/Kennesaw, GA, As Director of Comp and Benefits for YKK Corporation of America the parent corporation for 17 different YKK companies located in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and Columbia, I traveled extensively through out the USA, Canda, Mexico, Central America and Japan until my retirement in January 2008. Diane my wife of 42 years was not in good health and required my attention and assistance until her death July 1, 2009.

I had told my buddies back in Mississippi that HELL would freeze over before I got married .... guess what ... it was a minus 19 below zero the day we got married in January 1967 in Amsterdam, NY ... had about 3 feet of snow and ice on the ground and it was blowing ice sideways ... I had to keep our car running all night to make sure we could get to the church the next morning.
