Margaret passed away March 11, 1995 after a long bout with Lupus and complicating diseases -including the heart. Her youngest son said he thinks it was at 11:11 PM that day.
Margaret married A1C Terry L. Gift of Hagerstown, MD. They had a career in the Air Force and traveled the world. They raised 3 sons, Ricky, Ronnie and Robbie (Robin). She was the grandmother of 4. Margaret became involved in activities at each base where they were stationed. She was a member of NCO Wives Club. She worked as a hostess and cashier at the NCO clubs at most of the bases where they lived. She went to secretarial science classes at Horry George Town Technical College. She belonged to Beta Sigma Phi sorority, PTA and lead Cub Scouts, Weblos and Boy Scouts as her sons grew. She also taught Sunday School.
Margaret was my (Lara Mason Johnson GHS 64) cousin. Her sister LaVerne Dixon Ray (Class of 1958) now lives in Florida.
